We're neighbors supporting neighbors.
We have a very specific goal at Town Stewards: It's to create community by connecting you with local a Steward that lives in your area. We see it as neighbors supporting neighbors. They are your local neighbors who have additional time and they genuinely love to support persons in their local community.
Each Stewards works with a handful of persons no more than 1-2 mile away from where they live. Ideally, the closer proximity from their home to yours, so they are easily within reach when needed.
Each Steward is compensated for their time so they can support you and their families.
My name is Sean Kvingedal, I have lived in Portland, Oregon since 2013 with my family of four. I am social impact entrepreneur who builds open technologies to support local communities, nonprofits, and youth education for over 20 years. I have also been a Peace Corps Volunteer in Romania and lived in Rwanda.
I started The Town Stewards, because over my lifetime I am the go-to person retirees have counted on for all types of support. I have been on-call for neighbors, grandparents and now my parents who need assistance in various forms. Whether its moving heavy items, making home repairs, decluttering a garage, changing lightbulbs, or helping fix finicky computers and phone apps, I am their trusted Steward.
It can also be tough living far away from family. My wife and I both have family afar. Trying to find people that can "do it all" and persons we can trust to do small jobs is not easy. Other retirees are very capable, but also look for support keep an eye on their home when traveling, or freeing up time for some of their home tasks.
We all need someone who is there for us at anytime. Town Stewards is the solution that pairs local neighbors together. A person in your own neighborhood who wants to support seniors and retirees lifestyle. They are trusted and personally vetted to ensure you or your family can rely on them in your home and to keep your home well-maintained.
